Construction Industry
Groundwater issues have the potential to affect construction projects and these often need to be dealt with as planning conditions before any construction can begin.
Ground quality issues can arise from previous land activities as well as
the
design and construction of deep foundations, basements and structures
with the potential to encounter and affect the local groundwater
regime.
We work with land developers and their contractors to investigate and risk assess these issues in a cost-effective and efficient way. We engage with the regulators on behalf of our clients to actively address their concerns allowing the removal of planning conditons and the commencement of on-site works to proceed.

Minerals Industry
The winning of minerals, aggregate and stone will
often involve the underlying groundwater regime. Properly investigating and understanding the groundwater regime is key to minimising and
mitigating the potential effects of any quarrying operation.
We work
with quarry operators from feasibility and pre-planning stages through planning application, public consultation and operational phases. Aquiring a good quality groundwater data set at an early stage allows for the development of a robust conceptual understanding which can be used to satisfy the majority of stakeholder concerns which can arise during the planning process. This approach can avoid delays in including sites in Mineral Plans or the commencement of operations.
